Treading Water

Treading Water

A Poem by HypnoticallyPoetic

Spinning in a sea of solitary
Now she flees to the ocean alone
Surrounded on all sides
by the pull and push of the tides
Nocturnally filled gates
are the only way she escapes
Through the... ambience filled escapades
Until the shades part their ways
To the sun's golden rays
And she's amazed by the way
the ocean's deeper everyday
The ripples set ablaze
By the coming of the day
As she rose
to realize
That the undertow's so bold,
That the ocean's so cold
Treading water alone
