Evolution

Evolution

A Poem by HypnoticallyPoetic

Who am I?
a woman with dreams
some far fetched,
but near to my heart all the same
a lover, a fighter
open and giving
willing to be whats right
and give my all
an intellectual, perpetual, highly sexual being
an artist
and part-time optimist
although sometimes my sunny-side-up gets busted
and runs off the plate
my mind's a mess
not so neatly collected
call me, I'll be
scattered and tossed to the wind
a million ways South of the North Pole
but it all comes back to one
thats me
still not quite who I want to be
but so far from who I was
some miles left till my destination
but way beyond where I begun
Where I began
then is not who I am
can't jump the tracks
or go back
whats done is done
nothing changes
why wait when there's open pages ahead of me
Life's a stage and its set for me
and MY standing ovation
my permanent change of station
in relation to heaven and earth
Before death, after birth
is a constant evolution
of morality, physicality, and spirituality
awaiting life and what it has for me
Not fearing the end;
I know God has a plan for me
every second, I'm changing
the transformation is amazing
but irreversible;
Once the cocoon is shed
it's done
the butterfly that is
can't be
the caterpillar that was
