Dandelions in the Wind

Dandelions in the Wind

A Poem by wynn
"

The cycles of the Earth.

"

With parchment, ink, and feather quill

I inscribe by fireside;

Power emanating from my pen,

Torrential thoughts flow

Violent whirlwinds rule the skies

A thunderous crashing from above;

Lightning flashes through cold clouds

Illuminating the dark valley

Earthquakes tremble beneath,

Dividing the ground

Shaping caverns, shattering stones,

Mountains reach the heavens

Flames rise, flickering in the mist,

Molten ashes flow in plumes of smoke;

Magma scorches damp soil,

Stealing leaves from trees

Soon, green grass replaces barren land

The moon becomes the sun

The sky feigns a gentle breeze;

Dandelions in the wind.

it does feel like that when we write...the earth moves...there are storms of passion, pain, joy...but in the end, we never notice anything other than the inspiration and the work we get so caught up in...
a poet's poem...

nice work...
and i'm not going easy...this is a nice blend of muse and nature.

This is how I feel when I write a story. Getting lost in the characters and the creation and their growth.. Those that decide to be book length can chatter on endlessly over months in there. Always running their new dialogue and telling you what *they want to do next.. So demanding, and times consuming as they drag you constantly back into their world.. That when I put that last period on the page, I am simultaneously relieved and drained. My life is now my own again.

Very well worded and apt piece on the power the mind wields as it creates something anew.

*they meaning my characters. Who come to life with their own voices in my head.

Yes..words can have so much impact. Thanks for the review! :)
I don't often feel like a wizardly creature when I pick up my pen to write. (I rather feel like a clumsy hobbit) ...But, when the magic happens and power flows through my pen and beautiful words appear on my paper, I feel magical! I love this description of writing gone right! Lovely!

This is GREAT! The imagery is very descriptive and really makes you picture the scene. The most powerful thing on the planet: Pen and ink.

I thought this was great. This can not possibly be your first poem. It is polished, it flows very well and your theme is enchanting and thought provoking. Very good.

This is lovely for a first poem or any poem. Especially like "the moon becomes the sun." Keep up the good work and thanks for the nice review.
