lesson from pastA Poem by hussainAnd Yes I keep waiting Every time there’s buzz is on my phone I rush Thinking that it’s you, It’s true I messed it up; I did not want it any further, And yes I replied once after several message of yours Deep down it was a lesson from the past I thought you would stop, but I wanted you not You always called me, talked for hours You talked about everything Everyone you met, everything you liked, your crabby aunty, your classy sister your proud father and your caring mother You called me with unimaginable names With adjectives I never found use for. And you complained I never share When I talked I brought up mundane subjects, That I would sound boring, ‘cause I never wanted it any further Deep down it was a lesson from the past I thought you would stop, but I wanted you not. And it was yesterday you brought up my past Asked me how I felt That I did not reply You concluded, it’s the past Where I still dwell. And there you stopped this time I thought you would not stop and I wanted you not But there you stopped The lesson from the past was lost I still wait for your call and you do not. And now it’s again the past. © 2016 hussainReviews
