ME

I know many of you have seen this on my profile page and many others would have thought I just copied it from somewhere else although it has been derived from a collection of words. But this is MY piece...this is me.

 

Me

 

 

 

I fall & I pick myself up,

I lose hope yet I dream

I am lost & I find myself again,

I cry & I laugh through my tears

I despair yet I believe....

Despite my height,
insecurity,
criticism,
competition,
bad timing,
bad luck,
fear,
flaws,
failure &
opposition.........

I AM THE GLOW
of confidence
FOR WHOM THE WORLD
steps aside
I AM THE SPARKLE OF
independence
THAT TURNS HEADS WITH
every stride.

This is just wonderful. =]
It's good to see poems like this. Uplifting, motivating, passion-filled poetry! Sometimes I get tired of the depressive stuff. It's almost rare to see this subject matter anymore. It's refreshing.
I especially liked the ending

Usually I'm anal about captialization and grammar and all that- but your poem, the defiant manner in which it is typed fits perfectly with the point you're trying to get across! I just love it!
