Outer Space Travel

Outer Space Travel

We hop on the spaceship

Waiting to depart

Far away from this sphere

Of boredom and routine

Eventually the spaceship goes

And we blast off

Into outer space

Where we can see asteroids and planets

Hovering in the black space

Eventually we come to another sphere

This one green and brown

We realize that

It’s just the other edge of our hometown

This is a great poem written, from the introduction, with suspense, anticipation, taking the reader along, imagining oneself on that spaceship until the wonderful twist at the end, like a vortex, pulls you out of that outer world phantasy you metaphysically embarked on, bringing you back down to earth reality in your local town, even like getting back from a dream to the familiar sight of your of your bedroom, under your warm duvet.
And such final twist add a wonderful sense of humour to the poem.
