History DepartingA Poem by Matthew Young
You showed me the thread
He has you strung-out upon The holy existence you were born to Becomes a part of me If only for the crucifixion He places you on his desires And fastens your flesh onto them With cheap victory You know this is wrong Yet you cannot speak He has tightened his influence Over your mouth And with a hive of bees He steals you off into his nightmare Of cold statues and mischievous monuments Reflecting something of the past Something I remember quite well I hold you in my arms I kiss your faith It is too late You are gone Vanished again into a milky moment Of mindless mistrust with the promise of Decay attached firmly to your side © 2010 Matthew Young |
