some good came

some good came

A Poem by Matthew Young

from whatever
we
just went
through
maybe
you see
it too
maybe
you know
how much
i really
love
you
without
having to
say it
i wish
i could
i wish
i could
say it
but
that would
open up
a new
world i'm
not ready
for
and losing
you is
tough
enough
tonight
reminds me
of then
almost
when i had
wanted to
erase you
wipe you
clean from
inside
i tried
with many
things
and damned
myself
into a
corner of
self-regret
i created
this universe
of badideas
demons capable of
crushing entire
dreams with the
flex of a muscle
then something
happened
i got better
but only by
God's grace
and wanted you
to see me
wanted you
to love
this new me
of light
and you did
and i loved you
even more
but we couldn't
make it
last
prior agreements
killed it
now i'm back
at square
one
and you are
once again
far
away

Author's Note

Matthew Young
ignore grammar and spacing. this is sorta like a free-flow-whatever. perhaps if a broken heart could pen a poem without first being filtered through our thinking caps, it would come out like this.
