some place in the sun

some place in the sun

A Poem by Matthew Young

you have placed me upon this pedestal
to be judged amongst the dead
this world is yours for the taking
I am but a thorn to your head
the crown you wear to Armageddon
is made up of the ones you've used
no one can see beneath your gown
that great purple bruise
its so becoming on your belly
my world here did reside
I long for the love you showed me
yet I am only a guide
my work here is done
your evening found the dawn
I can now move freely
in the shadow you left me
I can now sing our song
the melody you wrote
the words I added on
you always wanted to hear it
yet I was never that strong
as to sing it for you
the way it was meant to be sung
so I locked it up in this longing
and stored it some place in the sun
maybe you'll find it there one lonesome night
maybe then you'll think of the past
maybe by then this will have become right

.
. maybe ... but whoever missed out on this remarkable and striking piece of poetry ... and obviously ... the super sensitive soul who wrote it ... is a long way from home ... (superb art work all through by the way) ...

I think it's about being left behind.
being loved by someone and then them moving on, but you haven't.
and you're hoping that one day they'll realized what they messed up.

but that's just what I get from this. I'm sure I'm dead wrong.

Nevertheless, very well written.
