                       MY LIFE IS TO DIE

I see I see as those who came before me as sure as the clouds hide the sun from my eyes there in the distance a voice waves good-bye, I’ll never know them, but as for me
My life is to die
In as much as I have seen and heard the sound of terror across the earth
please do not delay our flight to the mountain of rivers of joy and cold flowing fountains
bye and bye, throw away the old and put on the new, but as for me
My life is to die
Who can observe the beauty of the sky for it speaks a language that none can reply
Who knows when or why the wind swirls selflessly over our ears
to give us hope and calm our fears, but as for me
My life is to die
So let's make a joyful noise to the Creator that the life beneath the sea may rejoice and
the builders of heaven look down, but as for me
My life is to die

When I wrote this, I had a vision that this world and the things in this world was like looking through a smoke glass. I then realized the real world is the world where God's throne is. So. this poem was like a eulogy to this world

Wow! This sounds like a song to me. A pledge song to God and a declaration of purpose to the world. Yea, it echoes what Paul says in one of his letters; "For me to live, to die in Christ is gain." We need poets who will provide "poems of life and hope" to this world in process....

I really like this. There is something about it that is sort of ambiguous, but in a way that makes you want to analyze it more for its deeper meaning. It just keeps nagging at you, but you can't quite reach it. This is lovely. Good job.

Very creative, word spoken with the air of wisdom, we are all living to die anit no other way out, you are only immortal through what you leave behind.

You have a strong positive voice and the gift of pen.

"Who can observe the beauty of the sky for it speaks a language that none can reply"
That was simply beautiful!
I appreciate the artistic vantage-point and I thoroughly enjoyed reading!

It's a big middle finger to those who tell you that "Suicide takes you to Hell" (not something I agree with, really). Definitely satisfied with the repitition; it really gets through to me-- as if the narrator trying to tell us that nothing the reader says will change they're mind about how they see their own life. This is very "solid" in my mind. It's very thought-provoking and, of course, powerful. Great work.

Very strong poem...deliberately pointing out the contrast between reality, hope...and then reality again. This "tug of war" is human nature in spite of our individual situations and backgrounds-- no matter where we draw our experience or inspiration from. Thank you for writing this piece...it gave me so much to dwell on...CUDOS!

metaphorically...
Great job! I like when there is something in the voice of the reader that leads me to
want to say Amen.
