apology to diana

A Poem by huma

I have always been afraid
to drive alone
in the rain
over bridges
around curves
without side rails.

There are times I can feel
the tug from the bottom
of the ditch
daring me
draining me
drowning me

I have always denied it
with my body stiff
I begin to chant
my mantra
I am the car
the car is me

Give me the sun
just before dusk
the way it moves
through the spaces
between the leaves
gilding all it touches

And me, I will move
with every hump
and rattle
and twist
and laugh
and know

I want to expire
so lazily
on the porch
on Sunday morning
and in the swirl
of death
I want to feel
like a happy ending.

Beautiful, flawless description. I love the way this is worded, and the short lines work wonderfully. Great job, you're very talented. :)
