The End?

The End?

A Story by Malachite
"

This is kinda weird, but a friend of mine has been harrassing me in the hopes of me adding something.

"

The tayra's thick tail swished side-to-side confidently, a deep growl growing in it's chest. It acknowledged the intimidation it inflicted upon the pathetic agouti, which only fueled it's hunger and blood lust.

The agouti, literally trembling with fear, took a cautious step rearward. It wouldn't have made a difference, it was cornered. Only moments before it believed it was safe from any tayra, seeing as they are less active during the day; but here it was, exerting itself under the hot sun.

The agouti knew it's fate, that this was life. But oh! How it yearned for life! To feel grass underfoot and to hear rain dropping on to the leaves! To be one; mind, body and soul!

Was this wrong- To go against the will of nature? To refuse fate? Horrid, awful thoughts! Oh, but it's so unfair...

The agouti would never know; never find a mate, never raise young kits, never-

The tayra pounced, tail erect and teeth bared, killing the poor dear. And as the darkness of death fell upon his eyes and the red envelope of pain mercillessly sheathed him, one question lingered:

    Is this The End?
