My sweet Emily

My sweet Emily

A Poem by child of God

A child as sweet as you
Only comes once in my life,
So perky and rambunctious
As only you could be.
God saw fit to call you home
When you were so young.
My heart is so broken
And I can't stop missing you.

I hope you are happy in heaven
With Jesus at your side.
Maybe you'll be reborn someday
And live to be very old.
Maybe you can love someone
Like I loved you,
And not misd out
On things i will miss.

God bless all the children
Who did not get a chance to live
And learn to love life
The way you should have done
I will always remember you
And your sweet face
And smile within my memory,
And try not to cry to hard.

Beautiful poem, sorry for your loss

Posted 8 Years Ago

It hurts to lose someone so close to you. I see this as a poem of hope, looking up to heaven makes death not to look so bad. Nicely written.

I love the message in this poem as I have lost a someone, too. I can sympathize with you and I hope that you stay strong.

With looking at the grammar, several "I" need to be capitalized and in the first paragraph/stanza, there is a quotation mark that doesn't quite fit in.

Other than that, this is a heartfelt poem and it sweet.
