Beach

Beach

A Poem by Kristin Huen

As I walk down the beach

I see forgotten footsteps

Footsteps that belonged to a forgotten child

To be washed away by the water

These footsteps hold forgotten memories

That the wind carries away

This sand was once a big rock

Bold and beautiful

Until it was broken up

Into tiny grains of your past

Each grain of sand holds forgotten memories

Of those who used to come here

The sand is lost time

The water is dark

Once bright and happy

Now full of despair

This beach holds lots of

Forgotten memories

Once loved and cherished

Now forgotten

Never to be seen or touched again
