Our Heroes

 

Our men and women brave and strong, who has a higher calling.

Those who are tough and will not faint and aren’t subject to falling.

 

To set all aside their family and their lives.

For they don’t think of their selves and all they need to do.

For when they are called for duty, they are ready and they all bravely go.

 

They join together hand in hand praying that God will give them wisdom.

They unite and fight for what is right and for each of our freedom.

 

I thank God for each of you, man, woman or rank.

No matter what your color is or your symbol, to God I thank.

 

I pray peace and protection over you each and everyday.

And may God always light your path in which direction to take.

Awe Inspiring!!! Reminds me so much a Maya Angleou's work. I love it!!! I should be the peom for every man, woman for every race, gender, sexuality. For anyone with the guts to go out of there way for the greater good on mankind and American.. I believe every military person should read this:)

This poem was so poignant during this time in our country's memorial of Sept. 11th. I felt when i read it that you were mostly talking about the men and women in our military, but, it probably applies to all brave civil servants as well. I very much like the line: "They join together hand in hand praying that God will give them wisdom." I love the flow and overall spirit of your write and can't wait to read more. God has given to them the responsibility of the safety of our nation and they do not shirk that duty nor take it lightly. May God bless our soldiers and give them protection from our enemies. This was very moving.
