Tired of being negative, having managed to remove some of those pointless thoughts feeling so much better

STRENGTH TO BELIEVE

Sometimes we allow dark thoughts

to shadow our light.

We turn away meakly; too afraid to fight-

what if we try and all our dark thoughts were right?

we watch others succeed while we

sit on the side lines-

desparate to try, but to timid, to shy.

Yet, no object is insurmountable.

Nothing able to discredit.

We have only ourselves blocking our way-

shaking our heads with only negatives to say.

Step aside, from out of the dark;

allow the light to fight your fight.

walk ahead to what you want to achieve-

you need nothing more than the strength to believe.

I'm in awe by the positivity you have passed through your poem... There is nothing more powerful than a positive mind... One famous physicist once said that a positive mind has enough power to destroy the whole New York city... There is nothing in the world that we can't do, we have enough abilities in ourselves but it just our mind that dwells on negativity and makes feel like we can't do anything....

Your poem reminds of a famous quote by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale which I want to put here : "formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture. Never think of yourself as failing ; never doubt the reality of the mental image. That is most dangerous, for the mind always tries to complete what it pictures. So always picture success no matter how badly things seem to be going at the moment."

we fill our minds with worry and fear- and nightmares...
we need to purge them like that room you wrote about before.

solutely correct Bacchus, we allow far too much unnecessary rubbish fill our heads, not allowing us to concentrate on things that actually need our attention an instead spend our time wasting energy stressing on cxxp, thank you so much for reading and reviewing , much appreciated :)

believing in ourselves is not so easy...even when we begin to think positively, there is always that dark voice in the back of the mind saying "you won't do it"--

if only we could overcome that. Maybe get an attitude of going for it no matter what...we would succeed much more often than we might expect.

Agreed, although my middle son is so positive, he just gets what he goes for everytime..i always say if i could bottle what he got i would earn a fortune!
