Closest of friends

Closest of friends

A Poem by hcarson
"

Another straight from head, a tad more cheery

"
A closest friend
Do I have my kindle, pads and pens?
Can't leave without them;
They're my closest of friends.
They take me on journeys impossible
to travel, spelling out riddles
 so hard to unravel.
They spin tales so magical in
lands far away, untouched by humans,
Where fairies and imps play.
Together we solve all of lifes issues,
In just a few brief strokes,
we are hero's, lover's and danger -
lurking in corners..a mysterious stranger.
Darkness and light, fixer of all.
Just a slither of ink upon paper, a font on
your screen; we are words of imagination.
A hunger to be seen.

I have a habit of carrying my mobile phone and diary along with me wherever i travel, even if it becomes hard to carry a diary, i simply take the help of my mobile as i type all that comes into my mind instead of writing... sometimes, it becomes difficult to write down in a diary beautifully, so mobile becomes a better choice... your poem is based on reality and applicable for all the lovers of writing...
thanks for sharing this beautiful piece, i always enjoy your poems; hope you do the same for mine too...

And who can be a better friend than an empty book waiting to be filled by a poet , a writer.....
Very well expressed and shows that a writer can never go on without his/her book and pen

It is a true habit of a writer particularly a poet…. I always observe it in my teacher, who is a poet. He carries his diary and pen in journey… and when any idea comes to his mind, he just writes down.. thank you for sharing…

Cheerful and creative. It sounds nice and rhyming until line 7. After that, it reads off regarding rhythm, the lines don't seem to match it anymore. Some read too long, others just don't have the right stress.
Maybe you find time to rewrite it a bit, the imagery and content is nice.

Pretty much sums up the joy of writing. Very good.

I always carry a notebook and pen. No telling what will dribble out of my brain.

and the words just lurk around corners...we always need to be prepared to write them down, record them...because they are so elusive...and come and go at a moment's notice...and are gone forever.
