Gray

Gray

A Poem by Heath Rumble
"

MY FIRST PEOM! Three whole years ago. I literally wrote this in m mind while walking to the library on the day of the season's first snow. I raced into the library and wrote it down.

"
Gray, so gray, oh God it is so gray.
Walking through deserted streets as I make my way.
So silent, so cold, so bleak and so brisk.
Everywhere I turn the world seems colorless.
From the small dark allies I pass on the way,
To the buildings, the sidewalks and the clouds, all so gray.
Thinking of today, the season's first snow when,
I turn a corner, and I meet eyes with Owen.
He’s usually in the library, that’s my destination.
When I get there, oh when I get there, it will be my salvation.
Salvation from the cold and salvation from the gray,
As I make my way through town on this dreary day.

Author's Note

Heath Rumble
Too simple? How would you propose I get rid of Owen? (or do I need to?)
