I Know You!

I Know You!

A Poem by Parshall Reed
"

Our two cats, a sister and brother, constantly argue over who is top cat.

"

You smell familiar

as you walk by looking

for another hand-out

from our biggest cat,

the one that can get to the food.

He sure is built

differently than us.

But just remember,

he is mine, and she's mine,

too; the cat seat is also mine.

It can bear my weight

even if it creaks when

I jump on it. And

both couches are mine.

And all the beds and all the chairs.

You can sit on the floor.

Or go outside or move

to another house.

You smell like someone from

a long time ago, but not nice.

You don't smell like me.

You sit on his lap and

she calls you "Sweet girl."

Ugh! She pets you too much.

A can's being opened!

Wonder what's in it.

Out of my way, you,

before I bite your ear!
