To the moon..A Poem by hoytwritten for the modern day nursery rhyme contestTo the Moon
Blast off!, the rocket shoots through the sky, Children all over already know why! Never done before, and will be done soon The men in the rocket will walk on the moon. But first through the clouds and out into space, Away from the earth and through darkness they race. As they reach the moon, the end of the ride, “The eagle has landed!” says the man inside. Leaving the ship, the ladder they go down, Ready to set foot on the moon’s ground. The world watching in awe, together they find, One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind! The men climb onboard, back to earth they fly, Splashing down in the sea, dreams blastoff to the sky. Children dream about this flight among stars, Thinking “One day I may be the first on Mars.” © 2009 hoytReviews
