A moment I heard

A moment I heard

A Poem by hoyt

Eyes closed,
In darkness I sit.
I am still.

In silence
my soul listens.
Each of my senses
in their time,
together painting life
In my mind.

This moment I listen.
The silence pleasantly broken,
my ears tickled awake.

Children laughing!

Eyes open, I see them playing.
This time it’s a puppy
nibbling their toes.
The simplicity of their joy
dressed up as laughter
leaps into the air,
spreading like a flowing mist,
a sweet scent to be savored.

My ears catch the flow,
like a net holding all it can.
Joy and innocence
stirs in my soul,
as laughter’s tiny hands,
warmly hug my heart.

I remember.

The child in me
in this moment,
brought to life again.

I close my eyes.
I see sunshine,
and colors dancing
....in the stillness.

I smile.

The joys of hearing a small child giggle..Like music.. I love this piece. Makes one able to close their eyes and remember back to those carefree, simplistic days. Well done!!

Yeah, there's always a child in us, one whom we used to be. It is still there deep within us, waiting to be noticed and bared. Recognizing that part of our being makes us feel carefree and happy. Beautiful!
