Shine

Shine

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

No longer will misery grip your hand.

"

Misery held out its hand
And asked you for a dance
Now you’ve been dancing way too long
To the same old tired song
I think it’s time for you, my friend
To lift  your eyes to misery
And finally free your hand

There’s darkness all around you, friend
No light to show the way
No shining sun or little stars
To illuminate your every scar
You cannot just stay and wait
For some white knight to save you
You’re on your own this time, my friend
Just you and your own heart’s strength

Find that spark hidden in your heart
Pull it from your chest and let it shine
Watch all the shadows run away
Finally, a way to keep them at bay
No longer with misery grip your hand
You’re not that damsel in distress
You’ve made your own little shining star
In the darkest of all the nights

"No longer with misery grip your hand" I think you mean "will'.

It's so uplifting, and I like the on/off rhyming. I always feel like that gives it more of a raw feeling. Great work, it's....awesome xD
