What Would You Think

What would you think…

…if I was the outcast
and I didn’t care
if I laughed off the jokes
and brushed off the stares
if I was the class nerd
always reading my books
if I made friends with a person
who was made up of words
if I lived in a world
that didn’t exist
if I was the singer
always lost in a song
if I was the strange one
no one wanted to know.

What would you think…

…if I was different from you
and everyone else
Would you have the decency to send a “hi” my way?
Or would follow all of them in their little teasing game?
