We run along the shore like young children playing tag.
There is a certain beauty
In the rise and fall of the waves
We watch them together
Hand in hand in rocking chairs
On the porch of our little house
I turn to find you asleep
And laugh to myself as I stand
And walk bare-foot to the beach
The sand dancing between my toes
I let the salty water lap at my feet
I breathe in the sweet air
And turn to find you’re gone
A kiss on my cheek
You’ve come to my side
We run along the shore
Like young children playing tag
I lace my fingers with yours
And sit in the sand
You lower yourself beside me
And we share a soft kiss
And we watch the sunset
Settled in our bliss
I agree with Angela the imagery is awesome. Sappy? Maybe but how many movie scenes are shown to the audience to get them to come watch that movie? There is a huge audience for that stuff. Guess what some of them are on this site. Great poem!
