Shadows In The Night

Shadows In The Night

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

We walk these serpentine paths like shadows in the night.

"

We walk these serpentine paths
Like shadows in the night
Invisibility in darkness
No need for the light

We wander the streets at midnight
Like shadows in the night
Chasing after starry dreams
Yet held back by fright

We find a certain comfort
In being shadows in the night
We are cloaked in divine darkness
And are one with the night

We skirt around the streetlamps
So that they do not betray
Our secrets hidden carefully away
By shadows in the night

I really like this especially how it opens.

'We walk these serpentine paths
Like shadows in the night
Invisibility in darkness
No need for the light'

The only thing I could suggest to improve this poem is if you used a different word to rhyme with night (ie. delight) in the 3rd stanza. Apart from that small suggestion, i really enjoyed the atmosphere you created with this.
