Black Bird

Black Bird

A Poem by Lexi Nicole

The black bird flies through the hurricane
He's nothing but a blurred conglomerate of feathers and wings
You watch him with wonder glimmering in your eyes
He searches for heaven, the light above the skies
You want to fly with him but you're too afraid to try
Are you really going to let this pass you by?
You take a slow breath and spread your fragile wings
The wind wraps around you and the sunlight sings
You follow the black bird to his home in the clouds

I love how this could be interpreted in so many ways. I find it exceptionally interesting how this is written by two people, yet it fits together so well.
