A moth with the grace of a butterfly
Truth shrouded in bittersweet lies
A dark kingdom built on pillars of sand
The guard hounds howl soft songs of the end
The weight of the world upon her shoulders
She can’t take this anymore
She sits and she waits for him to wake
In her dark kingdom under the stars
She begs and she pleads for it to be over
As she watches his shallow breath
“Please take him away from his heartache and pain
Please take him away from this world
The love and the light have faded from her eyes
And her will to fight has taken flight
And all she can do is wait
All she can do is wait
He sleeps with a fear of opening his eyes
He’s too afraid to try
Too afraid of life
Yet petrified to die
He feels her tears, her fears, her pain
And feels his life slowly slipping away
“Let me go, unlock the chains
Set me free, let her live again”
But all he can do is wait
All he can do is wait
Their kingdom is crumbling
Though not quick enough
And all they can do is wait
All they can do is wait
