I love this! At first, it reminded me of Phantom of the Opera, just because it's a masquerade. Then your patterns of "one two three" and "beat beat" made me feel like I was at a ball, dancing to the beat. Of course I also realized by the end that it was about a vampire. This was beautiful, rhythmic although it didn't rhyme at most parts, gripping and dark. Haven't read anything like this in quite some time. Amazing writing and fantastic imagery. I wish I could go to a full out ball, how cool would that be? Anyways, I digress. Super amazing write! It goes to my favorites :)
