Life or Pen?

just a small poem with a small question

I couldn’t be them 
the ones dying in their rooms 
I couldn’t sit and pine 
over something that was never mine 

love, 
a chaos I do not deprive 

you tear me apart but I am alive 

they just sit, read and analyse 
through cataract eyes they do not see 
it's us these pages describe 

two lovers they can never be

This poem touched deep with me. So many fantastic lines, that are incredibly descriptive, deep and philosophical, and yet simplistic at the same time. Absolutely love the line that I quoted above, something that I think we all often have to remind ourselves. Because we are alive, no matter the other circumstances. Overall great write. Probably the best I've read all day. Keep it up!

There are those of us for whom writing is as natural (and as simple and yet contrary), as loving. Still, we write because to not do so is to die and those over-analyzers remain verdant-tinged of their lack to simply let it be.

I really think the first stanza brings the reader in and makes them want to read more. A good start you have. It's a short poem but all is said well in its few lines. Nice job, I really liked this.
