Taken for GrantedA Poem by SoHopefulIf only we could go back...The jump ropes stop turning, all the balls stop bouncing, and Barbie and Ken are no where to be found. The giggles and playful screams can't be heard, no more toothless smiles. No more street-light bedtimes, scraped up knees, or the kids calling for mommy; The last breeze of purity through the empty playground subsides. --------------- Confused and curious the world seems so new, Everything at this moment is seen as savvy. Trial and error and trial again, becomes second nature, realizing now theres no going back. Yet and still, though they are not fit, they know before long they will see the process of which innocence is at bay.
