In the middle of World War II, four extremely different teen boys arrive at a British boarding school to attend the final semester before graduation. Herschel is a Polish Jew, an aspiring writer and ghetto escapee haunted by a tragic past. Erich is German, an angry but rehabilitated ex-Nazi Youth who initially despises the other boys. Jim is a wreckless but intelligent American with no goals and no purpose who left his sheltered life in search of adventure. And Gabe is an British-born Italian, a passionate violinist, and knowingly but not openly homosexual, having left Italy after being betrayed by his first love. The boys have fled their unhappy lives and landed at Wellington's School for Boys, where they are forced together as roommates. The story follows the trials of their unlikely friendship through the course of World War II and the Holocaust.
This is Part One of the novel. I would love to keep this all in one novel, but if it seems too long come publishing time I could be persuaded to call Part Two a sequel... we shall see
I KNOW this looks like a rediculous amount of chapters, but PLEASE do not turn away from reading just because it looks long, because it is decieving. :)

My name is Emily, I'm 20, I am definitely not at home in this tiny MN town, and soon I will be the most famous author my generation. I go to Barnes and Noble to see where my book will sit .. more..
