Autumnal Journey

Autumnal Journey

A Poem by hopelesspierrot

Red-orange-yellow
Leaves cascading
Toward the earth
From the branches
Of their births
Slowly swirling
In the chilled nor’western
Breeze. On these
Days, nothing is dull "
All can be imagined,
All can be magical.
Winter is not death,
And this is not dying,
Just changing.
All is in flux.
All is fluid.

When the stray strands of
Sunshine hit the corners
Of these stones,
I feel alive.
Watching the leaves descend
On the houses Time forgot,
But Time has not begotten
These gentle, dusky souls.
Not in the twilight of an
October whimsical.

A perfect time for
Pumpkin and Poe,
Anything goes.
Oh, anything goes
With the leaves on
Their hither-thither

Autumnal journey.
