Behind The Nothing

Behind The Nothing

A Poem by Dano

together we burned
intertwined before the falling sun
shackled by flesh we wait
silhouettes rise and fall
beneath the moonlight
the few scattered firefly's live their last seconds
upon dying streets and death coated bodies
night has spread its wings hovering it seems
our eyes draw closed
blinded by love a listless sorrow unravels around us
through the trees and beyond despair
they want to rip us apart
feel us tear piece by piece
in a single moment death has come
twisted inside i feel the soft suicide
we waited together to burn
remember this the way your skin felt of fire
under the shattered canopy of darkness

shackled by flesh she stares
an emptiness to her soul she dare not say
a joy torn story of lovers written within
with weathered eyes she takes my hand
we wait in silence at the edge of nothing
staring beyond the setting sun

Your imagery and use of metaphor is astounding... you have painted a portrait of lovers in afterglow, enlightened by discovery of each other relinquishing the chains of flesh... profound write sir, kudos and thanks for sharing...
