Enlightened despair

Enlightened despair

A Poem by Hopeindeath

You say I have depressive psychosis, I say I see reality for what it is.
To be aware of the game of life and it's sham of heroism and success.
I am not blindly driven by the average man's goal. Yet I am a slave nonetheless,
but so are you..
The difference is I see my master. I work, but do so begrudgingly.
Which is worse the blind man thinking he is walking by his own will to a greater goal; when ultimately it is death guiding him.
Or is it me the open eyed inquisitive man. Questioning the shepherd at his motives, looking down the road and seeing death is the only destination.
As it is today and as it will always be.
So it goes.

I like it a lot, especially that first line. Reality is depressing and psychotic. I say both parts of that line are correct. :)
