Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by hopeful

She sits alone smartly dressed
Away from the crowd but close enough to see
Will he see her? Will she see her? Does she know?
Why did he choose her?
She re-lives the last conversation
The heartbreak as he left, the connection broken
Was it because she spoke the true? Did her words frighten him?
The crying past with time but she was still drawn back
The coffee house, the park, the bandstand
Those joyous moments they had spent together
She tries to remember each word spoken, each kiss shared
They are faded but pain still pierces
Why did he choose her?
Was it easier to not face the demons
Was the risk too much
The fear of the uncomfortable
An easy life with no emotion
A soul boxed away
Confident that if he only knew the joy they could have had
She could release the ribbon
Free to live, free to feel
The party past by wrapped in their own happiness
He choose her to be safe
Will the questions ever end

Not bad. You have a good image and concept and stick to it fairly well. I think the seventh line could be reworked a little, but other than that, well done.
