Simply Snowflakes

Simply Snowflakes

A Poem by Madelaine
"

This was quite random.

"

Dew drops,

Nature's chemistry.

Society is full of complications;

I just want the simple things.

I want to watch the twirling snowflakes

Making their rounds through the sky,

Like dancers on a stage;

I wish I were as smooth.

Is it hard to ask for a thrill?

Youth and toxicity?

I want the world to blend;

I want chemicals and metal.

I'm dreaming of stairs

Taking me only where I want to go;

Lead me nowhere to escape it all.

I want to be trapped in a cloud,

Away from the thick fog;

The overwhelming streets where we collide.

I like the three 4 line stanzas and then the last 5 line stanza to finish it... well crafted work... there were no rhymes in it, but it read as easily if there were... I also love your usage of similes... too often the most beautiful things in each day go unnoticed... terrific job of catching those moments and making them beautiful!

Society is full of complications;
I just want the simple things.

The simple things are the most precious. This is lovely. I want to watch the twirling snowflakes too.
