Stained Glass

Stained Glass

A Poem by Holly Lock

I'm painting your portrait on a wall of stained glass,

And gathering the pieces of an unending puzzle.

I chiseled your sculpture in a stone made of riddles

And erected a mystery,

Forever unsolved.

You've spun me a web of twisted fantasy,

Of love, and other such demons,

And I am an insect that writhes in it's depths.

You've left me to struggle;

Drowning in this ocean of mystery

That you have created

In my honour.

I'm painting your portrait on a wall of stained glass;

Every blessed caress of the sun

Sets it ablaze with the fire of passion

And breathes life to another enigma.

I liked that part best...Great job with this, the imagery and flow were great. I could see every bit of it in my mind.

Sounds to me that you have been caught between
an enigma and insoluble love.
This is a beautiful poem, coming directly from the
heart, as I believe all poetry should.
You have done an exceptional job here. Brilliant !
This is bursting with symbolism, slightly erotic and very
emotional. The structure is exquisite.
I think you have a winner. Congratulations !
