The Dark

It's been a while...PLEASE READ & REVIEW!! :)

Into the dark 

It pulls me under

I gasp

Still can't breathe

It makes me shudder

It's pulling me under

So dark

Still can't see

I hear the thunder

Who's there?

My ears ring

It's still pulling me under

So far down

Can't help but wonder

How much farther to go?

Am I still getting closer?

Though my senses are gone

I know that it's over

It senses my fear

I can feel  it now

I know that it's near

I'm afraid

My heart pounds

Though I try to be brave

There is nothing to do

I've accepted this curse

There is nothing to save

They say fear is worse

When it's unseen

And because it's so dark

I let out a scream

I think fear is something that invades our lives and leaves us unbalanced, putting us in a cage.

I would like to see you be more descriptive in your writing. It's okay to leave the main gist of the poem at the end, but without detail to get there, the reader may lose interest.
