High Tide

High Tide

A Poem by Holly
"

A poem about a sailor... When do motives matter? How does someone receive forgiveness? PLEASE READ & REVIEW :)

"
On a day when the tides were high,
Waves violently rocked a ship
On this boat, a sailor stood
Tears welled up in his eye
Calling out to the wind
Begging to the lord above
"I've had enough
Please leave me be
Please forgive my sins,
I did them all for love"
Said storm raged on for several minutes
And after quite a time
A messenger from God did visit
A solemn look upon its face
The sailor had told a lie
Forgiveness can not be given
For repentance not truly meant
God can't be tricked to give out grace
The sailor then faced his fate
