Prologue ~ The wind blowsA Chapter by Holly - TamaHaru Forever! The Prologue ~ Jem Ashcroft, a young woman with mysterious silver hair, has just had her first child.
Wind whipped noisily, like a ghost, outside the hospital window; inside lay a woman, her hair of deep silver, with her eyes closed gently. She smiled in her sleep and mumbled 'Sakura...' before turning onto her left side. The evening before, during July, she had given birth to a babe, whom she hadn't chosen a name for. Her mind had whirled like a raging storm trying to pick the perfect name, and so far she'd been without luck.
Jem awoke to the harsh noise of shoes squeaking on clean tiles. A nurse walked in, smiling widely. In her arms lay a small bundle of crisp sheets, which she handed cautiously to Jem. "She had a little breathing trouble, being born so early, but at 2:05 she fell fast asleep, little darling. She woke at 5:00 and was breathing perfectly, we think she's good to go." the nurse grinned. Jem blinked her jade eyes and held the child close to her. "My little Sakura..." she beamed at the nurse, "Thank you, so much, Miss Honey!" she exclaimed in delight. The nurse (Miss Honey) nodded in acknowledgement. She bowed slightly and walked swiftly out of the room. "Just yell for me if you need anything, sweetie." She called over her shoulder. It was a few weeks later, and Jem was sat on the floor in her room, playing with Sakura. After leaving the hospital, Jem's new daughter had suffered no problems with her lungs, much to Jem's happiness. She pulled the tiny wooden train across the cream carpet. "Choo choo!" Jem said to little Sakura. The girl grinned and uttered: "Woo, oo!" The mother and daughter laughed in harmony.
