Dear_Dad

A Poem by Heidi Franklin
"

A poem from a soon-to-be born daughter to her soon-to-be-father

"

Dear Daddy,

I can hardly wait until the day we meet,

My tiny hands and my cute little feet.

When you see me you’ll be in awe,

Perfection in your eyes, not a single flaw.

Together, you and mommy created me,

You’re the bestest parents in the world you see.

For giving me life and a home full of love,

For giving me a family I’m truly proud of.

I’m sure there will be times when you’re super annoyed,

I doubt changing diapers will bring you much joy.

I’ll probably fuss and puke and cry,

To say I’ll let you sleep is likely a lie.

But my promise to you is that I will be worth it,

Watching me learn and grow- you’ll love every minute.

With each giggle you’ll grin, each smile you’ll melt,

It will be the greatest love you have ever felt.

I can’t wait to be daddy’s little princess,

When mommy says no, daddy will say yes.

I’m excited for our adventures as father and daughter,

Camping in the summer and splashing in the water.

It’s almost time for me to come out and play,

Did you ever think you’d see the day?

My big debut into the world is near,

So take a deep breath and vanquish all fear.

My daddy is the coolest guy ever,

He’s nice and funny and super clever.

He loves me more than anything on earth,

Now let’s get this show on the road and get me birthed!
