One Year Anniversary poem I wrote

A Year in #HD

It all began one year ago,
Typed in “Tall, Hockey” and pressed ‘go’.

The dating site came up with Dfranks08,
Seemed cute, so I messaged him, and got a first date!

We pulled up to the restaurant and got out of our cars,
Across the lot a man was smiling from afar.

He was even more handsome than I had wished,
We were both thrilled we weren’t catfished.

Without even knowing, he picked my fave food venue,
It was two hours of talking before even opening the menu!

Laughing, telling stories and finding commonality,
It was hard to believe that this guy was reality!

We headed to go bowling after our dinner of bliss,
He gazed at me looking like he wanted a kiss.

The date was going well, or was it the wine,
So we went for it, our last first kiss of all time.

We may have not gotten many strikes or spares,
But we were with each other, so we didn’t care.

Learning, loving and growing together with no façade,
Every day a new adventure, two peas in a pod.

Six months later, I got a ring,
The moment was surreal, beyond anything.

We know we are both far from perfect,
But we understand each other and really connect.

HD knows we can conquer any feat,
Individually unique, together complete.

November 29^th I become your wife,
I look forward to continuing this great life.
