Cult Water Blues

Cult Water Blues

A Poem by David
"

More of a song type poem.

"

She's giving up on the Cult Water Blues

She could live by herself but she wants the abuse

I gave her my heart but she said it's to lose

We made it to the middle but we couldn't make it through

We drew out the circles

The ceremony starts

The strings were ringing clearly

The pain began to part

But she doesn't want to know what it takes to be true

She turned to run and gave up on the clues

My hands were cold, my mind began to diffuse

Living in the Cult Water, singing the blues

We erased the circles

The ceremony's done

The strings are all dead now

No life in the sun

The magic in my soul

Her heart has left a hole

Paying my own toll

To live upon her coals

The Cult Water Blues have taken me through

I'll never live the life where I have to feel new

No longer in the middle but covered in the dew

The summer time lights never shine upon you

You left me alone with the Cult Water Blues
