Her Heart has Taken It's Toll

Her Heart has Taken It's Toll

A Poem by David

Desolation

The dark covers the land

in my imagination

The land she once ruled,

but she destroyed that nation

She bled out their lives

and took all their knives

so they could not rise

in confrontation

Sitting in her tower alone,

she looks to the east,

looks towards my home

My people are dead

She asks for my head,

but I've already begun to roam

The trees, they seem so dark

The crows fly overhead

The lonesome gather 'round me

And to the pain I'm wed

Altercation

The blood covers the land

in her imagination

The land she's lost forever

to her dark creation

She ripped out my soul

and swallowed it whole

Not her true goal,

but her heart's nature

Sitting in her tower alone,

she looks to the west,

away from these bones

My skin is deplete,

my love at her feet

Her heart has taken it's toll
