She and You

She and You

A Poem by David

I want to feel the
pain / You wouldn't
understand the reasons
inside my head / I
want to feel the
love / Before I'm dead
You can't see the love /
Because you don't
know how to give it
to broken hearts / You
just like to be there /
while I'm parting
-                                -
Feel the love and the
pain / They're both the
same / But they belong
with each other / You
can't pull them apart /
They're like blood to
the heart
-                                -
I need to feel alive /
But you can't give me
the things I need to
stay that way / I
want to feel the death /
Before I stay / You
can't be the one / Because
you take too long to
give me what I need /
You just want to see
me / To see me bleed
-                                -
Carry on, carry on / Burn
bridges behind myself /
I just don't want you
to sit your love on a
shelf / Don't stop loving
because of me
-                                -
I want to feel her
breath / You wouldn't
understand the reasons
inside my head / I
want to feel her love /
Before I'm dead / She
just gives the love /
Because she knows
how to give it up to
broken hearts / She
just loves to be here /
Hand her my heart
-                                -
Feel the love and the pain /
They're both the same /
But they belong with
each other / You can't
pull them apart / They're
like blood to the heart

This poem is very difficult to grasp;
even a reader has felt that same pain; love and unrequited love.
I admire that the ambivalence the narrator seems to struggle,
(he) allows the person (he) is loved by to 'move on', to be able to somehow feel love again.
It feels good to love and especially to be loved in return.

"Don't stop loving because of me."

Powerful.
