surrounded by snakes

surrounded by snakes

A Poem by Harrisen Viator

Surrounded by snakes
with friendly grins upon their faces.
They're all the same
when you look at the place
of their heart.
Disgraced from the start
my whole life has been
a lie.
Cursed by time
there's no way I can deny,
'Cause I killed the father
now mother's out to get me.
The nature of my scars
I have figured out quickly
are sins in themselves.
Dispensed in a shell
of inferiority, my hell
is the inadequacy
of this life of good jobs,
congratulations and
you gave it your all,
for every dropped ball,
missed chance
and failed romance.
Now here I am trapped,
like an angry godzilla
with fire in his soul
for the spirit is low.
Drowned by the maniacal
depression of self-hatred
only knowing love
and the wealth of patience.
Have you eaten a dinner
at the table of Satan?
Mom, Dad? Can you see
the horror in the heart
of the son you've been raisin'?
