I loved it. :)
I dig the depth lying within it. That's what i loved in this poem. I felt this in different human's perception. Like someone who is heavily depressed with his life, but just living it to keep going or someone who is trying hard to destroy his life but can't due to some positive force stopping him or a murderer who is doing so many sins but yet surviving because it's not the time for his death which seems to be a long time.
This is nice, good to see you back. This one seems less edited than others, like you put whatever came as opposed to trying to form a specified piece, at least that's the feeling I got from the way it's written. I like those kind of pieces, the in the moment ones which have multi-meanings. I really liked this stanza:
yet life
holds him in
keeps him here
forcing him
to keep living
I like the form you went with here - a free verse of short lines, giving the reader pause to let the words sink in. I can feel the heavy heart throughout the read. love the affirmation in the last stanza -
he
is no quitter
and no fault
can be
made right after death
Absolutely true. Keep writing, Harrison!
