Reassurance

I wrote one for you last night, but it wasn't good enough for you.

I miss you too damn much

and it's been less than an hour

I don't want to go home

and my thoughts are turning sour

I felt like the king of my world

now I'm falling off my tower.

If my friends turn against you,

just know that I'll be here

I'll always be your friend

you'll never have to fear.

Even though I believe that

if you gave it time we'd be in love

I guess I'll use my rhyme to stay above

all the thoughts that bring me down

I promise I won't drown

in my sorrows, because

of the hope I'm given

for tomorrow, but what can I do?

I'll just use this pen and paper

to write to and about you

and you'll always know it's truth

and if you've ever needed reassurance

of how I feel, here ya go
