Love is not ours to discriminate

Love is not ours to discriminate

A Poem by Harrisen Viator
"

This was a poem I wrote after I heard an argument discriminating same-sex marriage.

"
What must we discriminate,
this love that is not our own?
This right that is basic,
we reject from others who love.
Who are we to say,
what is right and wrong?
Do you truly know,
the most high, who is holy?
How could a being,
of love, grace and mercy,
reject those who possess its qualities?
Love is what will prevail,
no matter what anyone says.

I like the half-rhymes of "own" and "love, "mercy" and "qualities". That makes it pleasing to read aloud.

Oh, and yes, it makes your point clear without sounding spiteful or preachy.
