Poems

I was just in the library trying to write an essay for class when this poem popped in my head.

I want to write a poem,

but I don't know what to write.

My mind is blocking me,

this might be out of spite.

The words just won't formulate,

oh what am I doing wrong?

Maybe my thoughts aren't deep enough,

or the process takes too long.

Although my mind is blocking

the words continue to spew,

it seems I've got it after all,

I guess this poem'll do.

I really haven't revised this poem, so this is pretty much exactly what I wrote when I thought of it. I'd be glad to know what anyone else thinks about it.

You know what, this is actually very witty on a deep level. I'm sure many poets feel like this, and I know that I sometimes don't know what to write, and then end up writing something "just to get something on paper".! And it's not always the best thing that I end up writing, but I (usuallly) feel better,....

It's actually really relatable, even though the whole purpose of the poem is about not being able to write a poem. It's really funny, in an ironic sort of way. But we've all experienced the hardship of not knowing how to say something we mean, pretty much, writers block. It sucks, but we usually find a creative way to get out of that funk. This was a clever way to do that.
